Admission criteria: only for students holding an Italian bachelor's degree

After pre-enrolment in the Master’s Degree Programme in Quantitative Methods for Economics and Finance, a specific Committee appointed within the Programme Board (CdS) will verify the student’s personal preparation (pursuant to Art. 6(2) of Ministerial Decree D.M. 270/04).

For students who have obtained a Bachelor’s degree final mark higher than 94/110 (or equivalent), the verification is considered automatically passed.
For students with a final mark lower than 95/110, the verification is carried out through an interview, during which general knowledge in the following areas is assessed:

  • Legal area: elements of Private Law (subjects of law, legal facts and legal acts, contracts in general) and elements of Commercial Law (the commercial entrepreneur, the different categories of enterprises provided for by the Italian Civil Code and EU legislation, business organisation).
  • Business/Management area: the corporate information system and its users; the annual financial statements: balance sheet, income statement, and notes to the financial statements.
  • Mathematics/Statistics area: elements of algebra; descriptive statistics and graphical representations; random variables; estimation and hypothesis testing; relationships between variables; simple linear regression.
  • Economics area: demand and supply; production and production costs; types of markets and their characteristics; economic policy; monetary policy; fiscal policy.

In the event of a negative outcome, supplementary activities aimed at filling any gaps in the student’s preparation will be recommended. Candidates will be informed of the date and time of the interview by e-mail, including the Microsoft Teams link to be used.
