To obtain the Master's Degree, the student must submit an application for assignment of the thesis to the Student Secretariat, countersigned by the supervisor, through the Director, at least 6 months before the start date of the first available degree session. For this purpose, the date of the entry protocol will be valid. For mobility students, this last requirement will be certified by the contact person for internationalization.
In the application, the student indicates the supervisor and the topic of the thesis. The supervisor can be chosen from among professors of the University of Messina, substitute professors, or professors assigned to teaching contracts in the academic year in which the application is submitted.
The final exam consists of the preparation of a written thesis and its discussion. The thesis should preferably be of an applicative or experimental nature. The student and the Supervisor can avail themselves of the collaboration of a Co-Supervisor. The Co-Supervisor can be a professor from another University, even a foreign one, or a professional figure, even of another nationality, external to the University. The supervisor and any co-supervisor must coordinate the student's activity in preparing the thesis.
