To be admitted to take the final exam for the achievement of the degree, the student must have acquired the credits required for the entire course of study, except those assigned by the Program of the Study Course for the final exam itself. The final exam for the achievement of the degree is based on the discussion of a written thesis, aimed at ascertaining the achievement of the qualifying objectives of this Degree Course.
For the Curriculum Quantitative Methods for Finance, the thesis must be written entirely in English; for the Curriculum Quantitative Methods for Economics, the thesis may be written partly or entirely in English.
The thesis, accompanied by the signature of the Supervisor, must be delivered by the candidate to the competent administrative offices at least 7 days before the final exam. At the same time, the student must submit a one-page summary of the thesis, in paper and electronic format (MS Word or PDF), to the Department's Teaching Office, which will then forward it to the individual Examination Commissioners as an attachment to the notice for the final exam. The Commission for the evaluation of the final exam is nominated by the Director. The Commission may include professors or contract professors, researchers, full professors, and assistant professors, even if they belong to another University department, provided they comply with the University Teaching Regulations. To pass the final exam, a minimum score of 66/110 must be obtained. The maximum score is 110/110, with the possible award of honors. Honors may be awarded, upon proposal of the supervisor and unanimous decision of the Commission, only for theses that are, in the Commission's opinion, of high quality.
