The Master's Degree in Quantitative Methods for Economics and Finance (MQEF) aims to prepare experts in quantitative economics and quantitative finance.
The student of the master's degree in MQEF will acquire advanced knowledge in quantitative methodologies, which he will apply to economics and finance. The MQEF has two paths: the curriculum "Quantitative Methods for Economics" and the curriculum "Quantitative Methods for Finance". The first curriculum is mainly in Italian and aims to deepen the skills for the quantitative analysis of economic phenomena; the second is in English and focuses on the study of issues concerning risk assessment and management in the financial sector.
Both curricula include laboratory activities aimed at acquiring specific quantitative and digital skills in the economic-financial sector. These activities will also allow the technical-methodological elements acquired in other courses to be applied to real cases. Thanks to the skills acquired during the studies, the graduate will enter the job market as a quantitative analyst in the research offices of statistical bodies, financial institutions, and central banks, a financial analyst and project risk manager in companies, an expert economist in public administrations and bodies, banks and financial companies.
The Master's Degree in Quantitative Methods for Economics and Finance (MQEF), class LM-56 (Economic Sciences) aims to prepare experts in quantitative economics and quantitative finance.
The student will acquire advanced knowledge in quantitative methodologies, which he/she will be able to apply to economics and finance, in the context of economic analysis activities and financial choices of companies and public administrations.
The training path focuses on the tools necessary for the correct measurement, understanding, and management of the dimensions of sustainability, considering the related risks and opportunities, both at the level of the individual institution and of the economic/financial system.
The theoretical skills acquired will be supported by the in-depth study of digital skills that are an integral part of the data analysis processes underlying strategic public and corporate choices. An important enrichment for the student's education concerns the use of statistical software most used in the world of research and business and of economic databases, both at macro and micro levels.
Expert in Quantitative Economics
The theoretical and practical knowledge acquired and the analysis of case studies will allow graduates of the degree course in Quantitative Methods for Economics and Finance, Quantitative Methods for Economics curriculum, to perform managerial functions in various work contexts, both public and private, both national and international.
In particular, the master's graduate will be able to perform the functions of the quantitative economist, public official in the economic field, consultant, and expert in the economic field.
Expert in Quantitative Finance
The theoretical and practical knowledge acquired and the analysis of case studies will allow graduates of the degree course in Quantitative Methods for Economics and Finance, Quantitative Methods for Finance curriculum, to perform managerial functions in various work contexts, both public and private, both national and international.
In particular, the master's graduate will be able to perform the functions of financial analyst, portfolio manager, risk manager, financial consultant, financial broker, and more generally expert in the economic-financial field.
